This Memorial Day weekend, I spent my time blessing the Youth Pastor at my local church and his family, by helping them build a privacy fence around their yard; so that the family could put up an above ground pool in their yard and enjoy the fun of summer.
The entire project took us 4 days and in that time, I was so blessed by the fellowship and opportunity to serve in a very real and tangible way, as well as bless a family that has poured their lives and hearts out to our community.
And for helping them all out in this project our Senior Pastor had us over to his home last night for an amazing Steak cookout, complete with baked potatoes, corn on the cob, sweet tea, vanilla ice cream and chocolate chip cookies. All prepared by he and his lovely Bride. I am loving how this years Memorial Day turned out for me, as this is a very hard time of the year for me. I lost my birth mother to cancer on this day back in 1983; so for me to be able to do something to take my mind off of the significance of it all, and be able to give something back was amazing!

Thanks for sharing Danny! I did not know that about your mother. I am glad that the day turned out to be great for you this year. Pretty cool how God can use our serving others to bless us
