What is your deepest fear?
This week during At the Movies we were asked what is our deepest fear? – here are some of the responses we have gotten so far from the Facebook Page:
Our Greatest Fear —Marianne Williamson
it is our light not our darkness that most frightens us
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous,
talented and fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world.
There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other
people won’t feel insecure around you.
We were born to make manifest the glory of
God that is within us.
It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine,
we unconsciously give other people
permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
Our presence automatically liberates others.

Join us for At the Movies this week…

being alone, being ashamed, being discovered. unfortunately I’ve learned to live with it.
Jimmy, your fears are real but you need to know you shouldn’t have to live with them any longer. When Ms Williamson says” we are born to manifest the glory of God that is within us “she is saying that we are all worthy of discovery and love. God loves us so much that he gave us Jesus Christ to die for our sins. God forgives us with his great mercy and wants us to do good things for him. God does not want us to live a life of shame or regret. He wants us to be part of the greater community of believers so we are not alone. We are all created in the image and likeness of God so we all have great qualities and attributes- we are brilliant, talented and awesome! We can share these talents and let others know what God is doing for us. By giving something we are receiving something too.
My greatest fear use to be being left alone but then one day my husband walked out on our family. Through that I realized the true power of Christ and that he truly is our strength and walks through all things with us. I think today of what my greatest fear would be and it would probably be letting my Heavenly Father down, but then I think about the love, unconditional love, that He has for me and that wont happen either so rather than live out of my greatest fear.. I choose to live out of my greatest desire and that is to live my life fully devoted to the one who is the giver of life and share His love with those around me. If I accomplish that in my life, I have done as he asks. Our God is bigger than anything we will ever face. Trust HIM today!
Wow, thanks for sharing your story and heart Wendy!
Joy, thanks for the offer of hope. Unfortunately I have discovered that hope+revelation=fear+revulsion. Lazarus stinks.
That is an interesting equation, I’m not sure I understand it. But I do know that revelation or becoming aware of the dark places in our lives is the beginning point for God to do his thing and make good of it.
Glad you came by and shared your fears though, have seen a lot of people dealing with them with the message this past weekend.
One of my biggest fears is losing my mind/going crazy. I’ve suffered from obsessive compulsive disorder and panic disorder for nearly 20 years and still have every hope/faith that God will one day deliver me so I can live a normal life. My case is VERY severe and affects MANY aspects of my life, including not being able to leave my home and be involved with my family when they go places. I would appreciate any prayers. Thank you and praise God for the strength He has given me to endure this and still laugh and smile. Things could always be worse….but they’re not!
