LifeGroups: A Coaching Culture
I just got done emailing one of our awesome coaches and as I wrote the email I thought about the culture of LifeGroups at Church Online. Currently we have 39 groups. That’s a ton. I could not be more excited about how God has grown our LifeGroups in the past couple of months. Having said that, 39 groups is way more group leaders than I can pour into individually. But that’s what we need… a culture of coaching. We need our LifeGroups ministry to be an example of people investing time with each other. We need people meeting together to share struggles, pain, wisdom, learning, encouragement, and all of the things that encourage leaders toward a deeper relationship with Christ.
We have welcomed many new leaders onto our team in the past few weeks and we now need people to step up and coach them to success. You may be wondering what coaching is. Some people call it mentoring and some call it discipleship. Coaching is really as simple as a devoted follower of Christ encouraging another follower toward a greater relationship with Christ and toward becoming a better leader. As a coach, you might have coffee with or give a phone call to your leaders on a fairly regular basis to see what you can do to spur them on toward greater things. It’s about being there for other LifeGroup leaders.
If you’re a LifeGroup leader and you think that maybe you’d like to encourage and mentor new leaders, please email me at email@example.com.
